RIISA - Orthodox Church Museum of Finland is a nationally and internationally significant specialty museum. The museum was founded in the city of Kuopio in 1957. It continues the functions of the Museum of Antiquities founded in the Valamo Monastery in 1911. The museum is managed by the Orthodox Church Museum of Finland Foundation.
The intention of RIISA is to preserve, store, research and present the unique cultural heritage of the Orthodox Church of Finland and to utilize this heritage for pedagogical purposes.
Open Tuesday to Saturday between 12 - 16 o´clock, closed on Sundays and Mondays.
